It goes against what modern christians in their ignorance believe the biblical teachings are. But to me it is clear the exact opposite is true in terms of what the bible intended to teach. That being deep scholarly knowledge about the world and philosophy/ethics. Knowledge that departs significantly from the message that appears on the surface.
