@Reich If you have the resources then running your own instance is the way to go.

@Reich Though keep in mind on your own instance you will be less federated so you will usually have less of a voice than on larger instances.

@Reich There are quite a few free speech instances. Some even more free-speech oriented than us. We will ban on very extreme cases but otherwise we are free speech. We have almost never needed to ban for someone having an opinion (literally never).

There are some instances however that even tolerate illegal activities, we do not.
