Thats about when I plan to die anyway, plus I was considerate enough not to have kids. So I'm kinda set. Sucks for all you suckers that procreated though.

We've made it through the collapse of human civilization a number of times already, as projected by doomsday voices from both climate science (?) and religious spokespeople.

Both voices are calls to repent for the end is nigh, and we are all doomed unless the asserted unquestioning submission to a specified authority is immediately embraced.

Both are wrong on their target dates repeatedly.

Perhaps we should repent and live right whether the end is nigh or not, and it shouldn't take a proclamation of pending condemnation and doom which just look silly after the date has passed, and discredits the message.

In the 1970s, everyone knew that human civilization would be gone by 2000, so my parents and many others considered never having children to suffer through the collapse. Seems that we're stuck on repeat.
