I am not a fan of Microsoft being active in the Linux kernel community.

Microsoft does not play well with others.

It makes me VERY nervous to think of the "influence" Microsoft would like to assert.

@Algot I 100% agree, I'm a huge OSS contributor and refuse to touch their stuff. With tat said their move to oss is at least somewhat of an improvement.

@freemo

I am merely a user, but do not want any corporation to "assert" itself in a way which reduces my freedoms.

@Algot I agree, and share your concern. Just saying it is still an improvement for MS. They went from super duper evil to just super evil. Doesn't mean ill trust them but i will recognize the marginal effort they put in to being less evil.

@freemo

I mainly worry about their long-standing method of making a "better X", a "better Linux" which will somehow warp the community in ways that breaks the GPL spirit, if not the actual letter of its expectations.

@Algot I agree, though im not worried about GPL specific in anyway, its largely going out of favor as a license anyway. But rather the OSS spirit in general.

But I suspect we are saying the same thing just different words.
