@10X

Also its a very misleading statistic in general. Insulin is free for the poor in the USA. Its 100% covered under the healthcare you get on welfare.

Where in all that does it say that the welfare system's healthcare?

I literally have two diabetic friends one of which is poor, both get their insulin for free through their healthcare. One pays nothing since he is on welfare.

@10X @snder

@freemo @10X @snder When you say " for free through their healthcare" what exactly are you referring to? There are some options for some people to have state insurance, but there are also plenty of people who are not eligible and still cannot afford insulin

@jaz

Yes I am talking exclusivly of the poor, there are plenty of upper lower class and lower middle class who wouldnt be eligible because they are deemed to make enough money to afford their own.

I believe in his case he was specifically on medicaid but id need to ask

@10X @snder

@freemo @10X @snder Yep, Medicaid is insurance, and people on Medicaid have some coverage. Each state is different. To review every state's specific coverage of diabetes scroll down on this page, each state has a full listing: ncsl.org/research/health/diabe

@jaz

I will say this, as a high earner my own healthcare went up 4x - 6x under Obama care. In the netherlands Ir is about 1/8th the usa price at my current tax bracket (cheaper than even pre-obamacare) with less out of pocket

Obamacare was one factor that caused me to flee the USA.

@10X @snder

@freemo @10X @snder Mine was already "Cadillac" so the company took a hit but I didn't really see much change personally, other than a few higher copays. That said, I'm looking at a 15% hike this year for the company's healthcare bill.
