@freemo it's true, whenever I see a red hat now my hand naturally goes to my blade.
It gets exhausting in Wisconsin...
@requiem If you mean that you literally get violent then that is rather disturbing. If you just mean your more cautious then I understand to a point,
@freemo preparing to respond to violence.
@requiem Ahh, is that common in your area among trump supporters. As much as I hate trump nearly 100% of the violence i personally witnessed back where i lived was from liberals and directed at Republicans. A large part of why i had to flee the states in fact.
I am not republican but it did make me fear for my life
@freemo The Trump supporters I encounter are a subset of people who are directly or indirectly violent against anyone different from themselves (and the same as themselves, if there's financial advantages to it).
I don't keep track of political affiliations, I just know that people in Trump hats are prone to above average levels of violence.
@requiem I dunno, could be true of course. But what i witnessed lately was very much the opposite.
Both sides seem to have an extreme hate for anyone different from the demographic of their "side" in general. But the left seems to be the one doing the vast majority of the violence based on my own personal expiernces as someone who spend a good time at political rallies of both sides as a neutral observer.
@requiem Police are definately a big issue. I too include the violence in my every day life. I fled america because of the violence i saw day to day from the democrats I used to support. Mostly for being critical of the democratic party on certain issues which made people accuse me of beinf a republican despite always having voted democrat. After the death threats over nonsense I fled. Now im in another country and forced to vote remotely and for the first time ever I might even have to consider replicans, I dunno, that or third party.
@requiem fair, good plan :)
@freemo It's definitely tough here, and I have it easy compared to most.
I have zero expectations when it comes to the government. I'll vote, but only because doing so doesn't detract from taking more direct action that I have more confidence in making a difference.
In the long run the only viable solution I've found is to work to reduce dependencies on entities who have nothing to gain from your happiness and survival :)
