@chris While that is a serious issue and it does reflect the fact that the USA has healthcare problems that need addressing its important to realize this holds true in a different way for socialized healthcare as well.

One of the huge issues with socialized healthcare in most countries is the enourmous wait time. So regardless of if you can afford it or not you wind up waiting months for treatment on serious conditions.

At least in the USA you can get treatment quickly if you are insured or have the cash. In many countries in europe you dont even have that option and are stuck delaying vital treatment whether you want to or not.
