I did hear about those early day BBS’s where people would start running their MUDs on phone and on the burgeoning internet. Apparently the horror of realizing MUDs went from a few ppl at a time to hundreds was a shock

I have some open-source code im working on that is a mud. I havent implemented it yet but i have been thinking of ways to add federation to it.

Nice, did ya catch the link to the source? Most of the basic functionality is on place. Its cool because even though its plain telnet its NCurses based. So you get text based gui like elements but still dont need any sort of special client, just telnet.
