Anyone got any low carb meal suggestions that isnt just a chunk of meat?
@a7 already my norm :)
@freemo I like frittata a lot. Infinite variation potential, too.
@raucao Not a bad idea, I dont cook with enough eggs and we did this a lot as a kid and its one of the few low carb things I can say s reall enjoyable.. throw some veggies and diced hot dogs in there and you got a meal
@freemo You can also search for Sfouggato recipes. It's a greek version of that.
@freemo Also, fish and seafood should be staples in anyone's diet IMO. And for the carnivores, there's also the rest of the animal that isn't normal meat, like liver for example. Most organ meats are nutritious af.
@raucao yea im all about seafood. salmon is great on low carb because its nice and fatty so still filling
@freemo Oh yes! I had salmon pretty much every other day when I did strict low carb for like 3 years.
@raucao so easy too, sautee it, add a little spices and its amazing.
Can never go wrong with salmon
@freemo Mayonnaise?
@freemo scotch eggs are pretty low carb too, if you need a side dish. (Just don’t use breadcrumbs.)
@tbm hmm, never tried making them.. i should get a deep fryer for keto maybe
@freemo I recommend making scotch eggs and getting a deep fryer. However an iron casserole is sufficient if you fry stuff only occasionally. Admittedly, it is a waste of oil/fat/butter.
@freemo
zuchini-noodles with cheese or tomato sauce
@unixwitch hmm cheese sauce on zuchini noodles... not sure how i feel about that.. I'd have to try it first. I feel like it might need to be on the dryer side since the noodles would add a lot of moisture there, but maybe not. I havent worked with zuchini noodles much (I do have magic noodles though that are nice)
@freemo Doing low-carb myself and avoiding large chunks of meet I would say Cauliflower Crust Pizza. :-)
@xyfdi I have never been able to avoid meat and keep the arbs under 20g a day, how do you do it?
@freemo eating meat is an issue for me, eating meat means pain and inflammation for me a day or two later. So I try and avoid that.
@freemo I have also seen a Lasagna recipe floating around somewhere that surprised me.
As for my daily low-carb diet for the time being I eat Cloud Bread with humus or Johma Salade for lunch ( I skip breakfast. ) and usually greens, meet replacement, cauliflower rice and some sauce for my main meal in the evening. For sweets its +99% chocolate because everything lower is sweet AF.
@freemo a chunk of cheese
