@stux Really? Wow, I never would have thought you could support someone like Biden, yikes.
I honestly would have expected you to lean towards a candidate more in line with european ethics than someone like biden...
re: #VOTE
Your statement didn't actually state why/if I was wrong.. We have 4 main parties, those parties get on our ballots every year, they are all equally eligible for president and can win a presidential seat under all the same rules as any other candidate.
So yes, we absolutely have four main parties. I never made any claim as to how often or how likely they are to win, so not sure what that has to do with anything. As i covered americans rarely vote for good candidates, so sure, any good choice is going to be an uphill battle. But that really doesnt in the elast invalidate what I said. Just because americans by their nature arent likely to vote for good candidates it doesnt mean those candidates suddenly stop existing.
re: #VOTE
@freemo @mewmew @mur2501 @stux There’s more than 2 other parties, there’s also #KanyeWest, nominee of the Birthday Party
FTR I only recommend voting for Jorgensen or Kanye if you’re gonna vote third party cuz they’re the only two candidates I could see making an impact in 2024 and IMHO that’s what it’s all about

re: #VOTE
I used the word "main" not "major", these have subtle but important differences in meaning.
Major, like the word majority, is a word that implies you hold a large portion of the support. I did not and would not use that word.
I used the term main, which implies principality or authority more so than a quantity of support.
Yes I'd call any **main** party one which is on the ballot and has equal right and access to the presidency, particularly considering there are only a few such parties, sot here is a clear divide between main/principle parties and not.
Don't mince words here, you are trying to imply something very different than I am. You are trying to talk about what parties tend to get votes (approach majority, are major).. which is unrelated entirely to what I am saying, which what parties are main (have access to be on the ballot with equal privilege to win).
re: #VOTE
It is also very important to understand the nature of 2nd party wins historically in the USA.
The USA has had seven or so times in its history where a third party has displaced one of the two primary parties, in all but one case the same very telling pattern took place.
1) The old primary party that was displaced went from being a near majority to getting no seats in the course of only a single election years.
2) the primary party went from holding a majority of seats to a negligible number of seats in a very short time as well
3) The old primary party never recovers and eventually disappears entirely as a party after sometime.
Its important to understand how quickly, at least historically, the change of parties in America has been, typically 3rd parties go from having no seats to a majority in only a single election cycle. So it really says nothing about their viability in any one election.
