Im suprised and a bit confused by just how many sci-fi actors got their start in the old 80's MacGyver TV series. I used to watch it as a kid and I wonder if thats why I got into sci-fi later on.

I'm not even through rewatching the first season and I already picked up on Kira Nyris (Nana Visitor) form Star Trek: DS9, Q (John de Lancie) from star Trek: TNG, Terok (Paul Koslo) from Stargate, and of course MacGyver himself (Richard Dean Anderson), the main star of Stargate.

I wonder how many more I'm going to notice before I'm through rewatching this show.

@freemo I've seen some eps here and there and liked em. Do you think it's worth watching the whole series?

@admin Depends on how well you can stand 80s TV... I am watching it more for the nostalgia of it than the cinematic excellence. which is likely why I am enjoying it as much as I am.

It is cheesy, formulaic, the shit he comes up with to get out of situations is very often unrealistic, and the fact that there is some woman often with some sexual tension or interaction in every episode very rarely seems realistic... It is everything you expect from an 80s tv show honestly.
