Surprise surprise, 4 out of 5 of the people who died at the capitol hill riots were unarmed and non-violent pro-trump supporters, the one none Trump supporter killed was a cop who was struck in the head while he was actively beating people with his baton, effectively the one initiating violence and the crowd defended itself by the sound of it, in the interaction he got struck and died a day later from the head injury. Its sad that he got hit and I dont justify the violence overall, but if your the one sitting there beating people with a stick people fighting back is kind of the expectation, its not an acceptable tactic against unarmed civilians IMO.

@freemo
They were probably insurrecters... And perhaps now murder accomplices

Whatever you want to call the unarmed non-violent individuals who were murdered are fine with me. I dont condone what they did, but what they did isnt even close to as bad as murdering an unarmed person who is not being violent towards another person in cold blood. They should have (and would have been in the right for using) non-violent means if they wanted. Pepperspray, teargas, rubber bullets all could have been justified against an unarmed person breaking into a capitol building. but once you murder a non-violent unarmed person you loose any right to having the high ground regardless of what they were doing.

@freemo in the Capitol? Coups are done in that way in banana republics...

@pthenq1 Aside from a small handful of people no one had any intention of a coup.. most were walking around taking selfies.

Regardless its not the point being discussed. but of the people who did have real intent to start a coup, by all means arrest them and try them, hell you can arrest the people taking selfies too they knew they werent allowed there... none of that is the point.. you dont shoot people dead when they arent not being physically violent against another person and have no weapons... proportional response, always proportional response.

@freemo lol.

They were there to interrupt the elections! That is what a coup is!

@pthenq1 You keep arguing against things I never said.. As I pointed out a very small handful of people there had the intention of physically stopping the elections, and those people (as you pointed out) had delusions of grandeur of a coup.

The vast majority where there to peacefully protest, and the vast majority did exactly that. Aside from a small handful there was little to no intention of anyone starting a coup. But for that small handful of people, yes, they had that delusion.

@freemo Regarding the proportional response. Miss Ashli Babbitt was shot after she tried to enter the last door before the crowd and the congresists.

And she was warned several times. From both sides! It is clear displayed on those videos.

It is very sad she died in that way.

We will see what the investigators discover.

@pthenq1 yes they warned an unarmed non-violent woman that she would be shot dead before she was shot dead... what about it?

@freemo she carried on.

And she was violently breaking the window of a door inside a building where she had no authorization to access and if that door opened, a carnage could happened.

That is pretty violent.

If someone crash the glass of your home door or window and try to enter, I am sure you would feel that act is violent :-)

@pthenq1 "violently breaking a window"... violence against innamate objects doesnt count as justification to murder someone.

Im not a police officer, and the federal building isnt a private home. but that aside...

Are you telling me if someone was unarmed and nonviolent but broke the window to your home youd get out your gun and shoot them dead?

Me personally I wouldnt just kill someone for breaking my window when it is clear they dont have a gun and/or are not brandishing it.
