@freemo My guess is that they make it taste *bad* so that if a little kid gets a hold of the bottle and starts trying to drink from it, they'll get disgusted and stop, saving them from getting an upset tummy or worse.
@bii perhaps, though that is usually labeled differently. I've seen ingredients on denatured products but never seen it labeled as flavor. But you could be right.
@freemo Just a thought because I remembered learning about how antifreeze normally tastes sweet, so makers have to add a bittering agent to it.
