@aito@fosstodon.org I just took a look at it. I am probably missing something but it mostly just looks like markdown with extra steps :)
You very well may be right. I only gave it a very quick glance and looked at some example exchanges. I'm not sure if its providing any value for me personally but I could be wrong.

@freemo @aito Oh right now in it's infancy, I doubt it would provide much for you personally unless you are a very specific type of geek haha. I just wanted to point out to not dismiss it outright and remember it down the road. It might be a small thing now, but it could grow into something truly special :)
I love new novel tech so I very well might enjoy it just for that reason. Just so far im not hearing anything that wows me is all. This could be due to lack of reading up on future or present ideas. Either way I wish the project luck and hope it will do something to entice me at some point.

I like the idea of a protocol outside of the web that keeps it simple and clean. Gemini is just something like markdown if you don't consider what it's trying to do and consider only what it shows you.
I would suggest a skim read of their faq; it goes pretty well into the reasons why an alternative protocol (like Gopher or Gemini) might be a good idea going forward!
