Defence: action of guarding or shielding from attack or injury

Fence: action of defending, resistance; means of protection, fortification,

I would say it's not.

More context no one asked for

Middle English defens was assimilated into defense, but not before it inspired the alternative spelling defence, via the same tendency that produced hence (hennis), pence (penies), dunce (Duns). Webster made the -se form standard in U.S., but British has preferred defence, and compare fence (n.).
@freemo You've really got nothing better to do eh? Must be nice

@mgrondin I will never pass up the opportunity to make people smile. I will make the time.

@freemo You might think something like that makes people smile but all I did was shake my head at how childish and stupid a comment that was...maybe I'm just broken

@mgrondin Some people have a broader sense of humor than others. The way I see it you will either laugh or not, either way it is worth the attempt as there is nothing to loose in the miss yet something to gain in the success.

The real question you should be asking is why your bothering wasting your time chastising someone for telling a joke intended to make people happy. **That** makes you more broken than simply not laughing.
