@freemo If the price is too good to be true it usually is. There are tons of scams especially in flash memory. Unfortunately even buying from reputable sellers or reputable brands isn't enough to ensure you get a legitimate product anymore. I don't buy any kind of non-hdd storage online for risk of counterfeit products.
Yea though i looked around and there were a lot of 1tb options for 50$... so i dunno, off brand, maybe.
@spots1000 I am well aware of the fake sd and usb decices and know they run rampant... The issue is, its hard to tell which it is.
in fact in this case its suggestive it isnt a scam since the scams do tend to lean towards name brands more. But with only 3 reviews its suspicious enough.
@spots1000 Amazon almost always just refunds me and doesnt even ask me to send shit back.. its one reason why i use them for nearly everything at this point, that and the fast shipping.
@spots1000 Ever single counterfit i have encountered has been sold online.
Id imagine in person in a store its fairly rare since they will stop the supply chain once discovered usually
@freemo Yeah it is basically impossible to tell anymore. That's why I only buy storage in person anymore, that way I can verify the item is real and it is in it's OEM package before purchase. That doesn't work for everyone ofc, but for myself I've found it to be a good compromise.
