Woooaaaa, so my new color eink tablet has a cool hardware feature i just noticed... the backlight is can change not just its brightness but also its color temperature. While that may not sound so cool for a regular screen it isnt really common on eink displays since its the actual backlight. But rea i can make my backlight as warm or cold as id like
@trinsec could be.. his was e-ink right?
@freemo@qoto.org Yes, absolutely. If it wasn't an e-ink ereader, I'd call it a tablet. ;)
@trinsec this one is technically a tablet. It has 8 cores at 2.8ghz so would feel silly not to call it that.
@freemo@qoto.org It doesn't really matter how beefy it is, if it's e-ink, its main purpose to me is still showing text/pictures. How smooth are the movies on that thing?
@freemo@qoto.org I think most modern ereaders with backlight can do that now? My dad's Kobo, one of the semi-modern ones by now, had a backlight and you could change 'color temperature' there as well.
