@gpowerf@mastodon.social I need to spend less time on idle games. 😋

Don't think it is counting December itself.
I had to resort to this long form image as the numbers got truncated with the square one. That wasn't meant for quadruple digits.

@trinsec The Indie scene is where all the innovation and cool stuff happens though :)

@gpowerf

Only modern games i enjoyed enough to play till the end was witcher 3 and Elden ring. That said I do enjoy the whole dark souls series its just the co-op is just too slow/hard to use most of the time.

@trinsec

@freemo @trinsec I go through periods where I prefer different things, I spent about a decade between around 2010 to 2020 playing 95% 8 bit games.

@gpowerf

Well I used the term modern in what I said for that specific reason. I have tons of older 8 bit games i love and can play till the end, some multiple times (Zelda series for example).

@trinsec

@freemo @trinsec for me the 8 bit era is still strongest in terms of long-term replayability. I've been playing Donkey Kong, California Games, Yars' Revenge, Seaquest, etc... since the 80s! All games I regularly revisit and enjoy. I can't imagine playing Cyberpunk 2077 in 2050.

@gpowerf The only games I have played through to the end more than once were from that era.

@freemo@qoto.org @gpowerf@mastodon.social I actually don't really play old games. But I totally have no problem playing pixelated games or even ASCII-based games.

@trinsec

Dude your a minecraft junkie, Hate to break it to ya but thats an old game at this point :)

@gpowerf

@freemo@qoto.org @gpowerf@mastodon.social It's nowhere near old as your 8bit games though. ;) Most games I play are from the 21st century. :P

Sure, there are exceptions that I sometimes replay, but they're almost all in the category of point and click adventure games. That's what I tended to play as kid.

@trinsec @freemo 2023 was different, but normally NES and 2600 for me. Those are my two most used systems of all time :) In recent years C64 has taken some of my time too.
