Hey ActivityPub and self-hosting hobbyists, I have a question you guys may help me with.
The global idea, is that I am searching for a static site generator, with ActivityPub capabilities. And I'm looking for suggestions, or compromises.

I've been in the journey of making my own website and self-hosting. I started with WordPress, and it was fine, but I realize that may be too bloated for what I'm doing. I think my homelab could draw less power.
First, I wanna have a simple way to have an ActivityPub instance I can use for everything. I want to to mostly blogging, but also microblogging for mastodon, picture sharing à la PixelFed... The WordPress plugin is great for that, and might be my only option for now.

I also love the principles of SSGs, where I can just push some files to a repo to change the website, and everyone can get the source files of my website. I wish I could have a static site combined with ActivityPub. But what I figured, is that while a blogging website can be static, ActivityPub needs a server doing dynamic services.
I have seen some people having mastodon comments on their Zola blog, but I wish it was even more... "organic" than that. That is to say, a less hacky way.

Hey I am the author of fedipage, sorry im just seeing this. I am happy to help.
So for starters the documentation is pretty much the readme. It goes over, step-by-step, how to setup an instance.
As for the point, its largely so you can host a static page, like a blog, and have that page look like and be interact-able as if it were a fediverse/mastodon instance. In other words you can follow the instance as you would someone from the fediverse. New posts (pages, blog posts, whatever) will show as a post ont he fediverse and show in followers feeds. Their comments and replies to post will show as comments on your blog attached to the particular blog post, etc. Boosts and likes also will show up on yoru blog page.
It basically lets you have a static site generated that has all the features of a fediverse account more or less.
Hope that helps, let me know if you have any questions. For reference the fedipage git has the instructions int he readme here:

@freemo @fedipage Hey man ! Thanks for the reply ! I’m new to this ActivityPub protocol so I gave up pretty quickly on setting up a fedipage. But I think I’ll try once more if I find the time. Your project looks really promising.
