> Every person who is here without a visa or a passport is here illegally. No?
No, We have laws that make it legal to be here without a visa or passport under some circumstances. So no not everyone here without those two things are here illegally.
> yes, but people aren't illegal
Not my response, i have no issue with refering to someone doing something illegal as "illegal <thing their doing>"
> But, illegal is true around the world.
Except what they are doing isnt illegal all the time. Some people here undocumented (without a visa) are here illegally, others are here legally. Both the NIA and immigration act specifically state cases where it is perfectly legal to be here without a visa.
@chris I have no issue with people being deported if they are given due process. Within the due process kids in cages are fine. The objection here is NOT to having strong immigration laws that are enforced, its if the system has the due process to ensure the letter of the law is followed. Now should that law become unfair perhaps ill take issue with it, but my issue now is the fact that trump is explicitly telling ice agents (in writing) to ignore the courts and to get people out of the country without the right to a trial.
