HelpX or "Help Exchange" is a barter platform in which people offer or receive homestays, including lodging and food, in exchange for performing a pre-agreed few hours each day or even nothing but enjoying time together.
Types of work include gardening, animal welfare, cooking, and farming, assistant, extra pair of hands among other things.
NOTE: Couchsurfing for example can be just for fun allowing people to come for a few nights / keep us company / learn new things / show them around town / meet for drinks / arrange meetups and walks ETC!...
