@darnell I have checked into Threads twice. Once I logged in, looked around, and logged out. The second time I logged in, accepted a friend request from a long-time friend, and logged out. Mastodon seems to work better for me, except for the problem that you can't do a news feed on Mastodon about a specific breaking news item because it has no global search function.
@badtux@mastodon.social @darnell@one.darnell.one I stopped using #Mastodon about 6 months after I started using it, and switched to Misskey-based shortform blogging like #Calckey, and now #Sharkey or #Catodon.
It really is as better user experience.
My instance sharkey.world is cutting edge.
Software needs to load for even the most basic browser or PC to accommodate both old-skool and new-tech ways...

Low tech (about a decade old) might be good test of any software and if it is a simply-programmed thing or just more requirements based bells and whistles etc thing... Not saying it's totally bad but not loading for even basic browser or PC is a bit CRIMINAL! :)
Willing to accommodate by using a cut-down version would accommodate both old-skool and new way... at least load a login screen LOOOOL and main page to give access 
else really it's really in danger of over-bloat... or not accommodating the previous gens...
