I've just read a book on 'the female brain' (okay, I knew before reading it was probably not my thing - but it was on the bestsellers list & I wanted to know what was behind that bizarre title!)
The female brain? Uh. Each item of so-called 'evidence' was the result of gender stereotyping & different treatment of male and female.
It was very 'Men are from Mars, Women Are from Venus'.
Makes you wonder about human 'intelligence' 🤷♀️

Do you think there is no / little difference between #male and #female?
(And I'm not saying I think there is or isn't but just asking to start with...)
I think there is a great deal of difference.
But generally due to very different factors than people think.
I.e. we tend to start with the premise; male & female, and then take it from there.
Where perhaps we should start with other factors.
Such as historical context, power differential, and roles in society.

We talk about 'women's intuition'.
The assumption is that being female makes you more intuitive.
A study was done where people were divided into pairs. Gender was mixed & random. One member of the pair was assigned the 'subordinate' role and the other, the 'leader'.
They did exercises designed to reveal how much they were able to read the thoughts, intentions, & feelings of their partner (this quality is known as 'intuition').

They discovered it had nothing whatever to do with gender. And everything to do with role (specifically, power differential).
The researchers concluded, "perhaps we need to rename 'women's intuition', 'subordinates' intuition'."
After all, it does make a great deal of sense that if you have less power, you need to use intuition a lot more.
It becomes essential to read the other's intentions, feelings, reactions, etc. You could call it a survival thing...

Yes what you said makes sense in that area.
Perhaps an interesting area of thought connected to gender and role strongly (not totally perhaps) is by each one's physical ability.
The ability of females being able to give birth physically as part of themselves, going through birth itself more personally as potential death for them, giving life more literally to a child, breasts for feeding milk (though man can do this but not in the same way) and a few things below that might be more strongly relate to a 'role' , without any doubt?
That's the TLDR, longer form below.
As the males don't have that ability or option, then they are less likely to have it as a direct role?
Not having child as directly as females, not having breasts that give milk etc... = less of ability to have that role as directly ?
That physicality seems to relate back full-circle to role to a high degree, and seemingly without any doubt (?) since males cannot give birth or give milk physically in the same way (or not even close).
So physically seems evident that gender and role are strongly connected, by design ?
And even if not all females need take it on fully to that extent or role, they have the physical ability where males don't come close.
