#blindness #blind #readers

I am woefully ignorant of accommodations for the blind, so please forgive in advance if I say insensitive things. My father is losing his sight to macular degeneration and is a lifelong reader.

When I asked if he had tried audio books he said they didn’t cover his authors, or they read too slowly.

I immediately went to something that would read any e-book? E versions seem almost universal?

And this may be misdirection and he just doesn’t want to adopt new format?

@silentLurker Takes time... and also subtlety

- in leaving things around he can try (instead of asking him to try, leave a directory of examples more subtly / silently)

- think psychologically because yes it's a different format, and then maybe 1 or two things like devices

- can be he's had enough reading too!

But let it sit overall and let things fall / fit themselves without as much resistance...
