@PatternChaser@mastodon.green I had to actively refuse sugary thing which is culturally hard for many -
1/ But I did reduce it knowing that:
a) it's overkill (and teeth kill) to eat so much sugary stuff
b) a colonial import / supply chain which I can actively reduce by reducing my intake
AND when I feel for sugar have it (not as a dinner!)
2/
Nitpicking a bit what you said"
"#Sugar is a poison, not a treat."
I think the framing isn't right at all - Sugar is part of our body, biology and intake so "is" in a short sentence with "poison" is almost 100% wrong.
If you said words inside the sentence like "Over-using / over-indulging / addiction or putting sugar in everything" then it would make more sense, rather than sugar=poison equation.
It's more about the *usage* and balance of it and not direct 1:1 in ratio like saying something clearly like drinking washing up liquid is poisonous / not part of a healthy diet.
