I heard through the grapevine that a former student interviewed for a job as an IT professional. My names came up as individuals on the team know me and knew the connection. The candidate praised my classes (close to 15 years ago) as I designed them to give students experience with lots of devices and systems. Doing so wasn't in the standards, but I did it anyways. Apparently , it served them well.
