Having a PhD in k-12 education puts one at odds with the leadership trends. Despite their insistence they are data-driven, they don’t appreciate having to defend data and decisions which is what one is trained to do as a doctoral student.

I'm hoping your note is a reference to, for example, Education's reflexive adoption of Ed Tech and/or AI (despite the lack of evidence that it is helpful, and an increasing empirical body of data that it is, in fact, harmful)? Yes?

@garyackerman Agree. Arguably, even having an MA in education lifts the level of understanding of data above that of many of the 'leaders'. Building systems where the levers of power are held by those with less understanding of the field they control than those tasked with implementation is not a recipe for success. #education #data #leadership
