You want students to be responsible and independent, but you dictate how they spend every moment, including when they can use the rest room.

@garyackerman they don’t want responsible, independent people. They want people who do what they’re told by the oligarchy. Independent thinking is only encouraged in the elites. They’ve been teaching to the test for a quarter century now.
@garyackerman I have an issue with my local school districts (well, multiple issues, but this is the most pertinent one) because they released a new Code of Conduct that lays out what students are supposed to do and not do. But the code of conduct *does not mention* what the actual adults in charge of the students - teachers and admin staff - are expected to do or not do.
