The Xbox Series is the console I’ve owned which I probably have the least attachment to as a device or ecosystem. There’s nothing wrong with it, it works pretty darn well for the most part. But really I just see it as the easiest way to access Game Pass given that the cloud side is still sub-optimal.
This isn’t a criticism, but perhaps a sign that at least me as a consumer I’m ready to see the end of the console era. #gaming
@gpowerf I'm not very emotionally attached to "ecosystems", but it is definitely the one I engage with the least. I don't think it signifies I'm ready to end consoles. Instead it signifies that Microsoft is, which I am very much not on board with.
It was them, not I, who named their consoles stupidly, tried to decouple the Xbox brand from the hardware and went all-in on a subscription model in an attempt to fully kill software ownership, so yeah, I'm not too attached and it's their fault.
