As Microsoft turns off its 360 stores remember that no matter what platform you’re on, you don’t own digital products - you’re just renting them. If you can’t download an installer then you’re beholden to the service. And even if you do have some kind of physical install media, how many games have released recently that have required day one patches to be playable? They’ll disappear too

@jonn_blanchard indeed. They are. They’ve shows us time and time again that piracy is actually the best game preservation effort we have right now. But it doesn’t need to be this way, we need official video game archives just like we have film archives or art museums.
