To disable Google Chrome's "advanced" ad tracking, why not give Firefox a try?

@neil Frankly, even if y'all aren't bothered by Google's increasing data greed, I still recommend Firefox, simply because it is pretty much the only major browser available on all platforms that is NOT Chromium-based.

@Bright5park @neil I find myself in a tough spot, because I like ChromeOS as a daily driver a lot! With the Linux container, I can do almost anything I'd do in a normal Linux box. :(

@gpowerf @neil That is precisely the problem: Google combines their data collection tools with stuff people WANT to use.
I recommend switching to a full Linux install though.

If you just want a distro that works, I can recommend Linux Mint, though I also heard a lot of good things about EndeavourOS.
If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, though: I have been daily-driving Arch for about a year now, and either I have been really lucky, or it is a lot more stable than people think.

@Bright5park @neil it's alright :) I'm already on Debian, Pop_OS, and Ubuntu on other boxes. It is just going to be painful to let go of ChromeOS.

@gpowerf @neil Frankly, the one feature I really liked the one time I tried out ChromeOS Flex was being able to unlock the computer by unlocking my phone.

@gpowerf @neil ...I was about to say that I would love to have that feature in KDE Connect, but... while that option doesn't exist by default, it *does* have both locking and unlocking as a pre-built template for the "Run commands" plugin. And it works quite nicely, at least as long as someone is logged in already.
