Just realized that when folks post about an achievement of theirs followed by a 💪 they might mean it as that gesture (don't know the name) where you're like "yes! Success!"

For years I have only seen it as meaning an arrogant "I am strong," so if you want to avoid that perception, maybe consider a different emoji.

@CodingItWrong I use it to congratulate people when they do something cool. Imagine if someone posts a really nice-looking spin ice skating I might reply with 💪 meaning "Yeah! You aced it!".

Or if they post about their success losing weight too.

Anything that merits a congratulation on their effort.

@gpowerf that makes sense! Since it's celebrating someone else, it's a positive thing whether it's interpreted as a fist pump or as a "*you* are strong"
