This mini pickup EV is almost perfect. It's called the Telo and it has the same bed length as a mid-size pickup like a HiLux but it's the same overall length as a small hatchback. There may be safety challenges with that super short nose, but in terms of practicality I'm impressed.

500HP is a little insane and very 2023 where almost every EV is overpowered. But hey, it's better than underpowered.

@gpowerf the safety challenges might be solved by reversing the natural direction of driving so that the cabin is behind the pickup part

@mudasobwa makes a camping canopy an impossibility or any other large cargo, sadly.

@gpowerf Seeing it next to the Tacoma shows that most modern trucks have a hood that's too long!

@BackFromTheDud indeed. A big advantage of reducing the hood length is potentially reducing overhangs and wheelbase length, which would improve off-road ability :)

@gpowerf A big part of why modern vehicles require excessively long front ends is the excessively high mass they carry and the excessively high speeds they're capable of. Reduce those and you reduce the need for that protection. Length that reduces passenger deaths at 80 mph but increases deaths among everyone walking or riding nearby. My 1967 VW bus was sure of that.

@eRileyKc low CG, tiny overhangs, it probably handles like a kart despite the looks.
