Five days on #mastodon and no one has tried to sell me crypto yet. I consider that a a good sign.

@mistakenotmy I know. Once talk groups get popular, you first get spam, then ads. Everything since usenet has followed this for me. However, it might still be good if there is no money involved. Google+ was spam-free but with nobody. :)
@mistakenotmy Which leads me to the conclusion: If anybody makes money off it, it won't work. If nobody makes money off it, it won't work. :)
@hasmis Yes, I think that mastodon, too, with growing popularity will likely get more spam/"ads" of sorts.
