A couple of day back, I was thinking of buying myself a very expensive Christmas prezzie - a Leica 100 - 400mm zoom lens (for any 4/3rds camera). Normally about 1600€ but on Amazon.de, it was listed at around 740€. I popped one in my shopping basket then dithered and dithered - after all even at that price it's a LOT of money! Finally, this morning I thought "damn it, I'm having it!" but when I went to go to the checkout, a notice appeared saying that it was no longer available at that price but now costs 1579€; a price increase of over 800€!!!
So no bloody Leica lens for Christmas - I'm sulking BADLY!!!

I have had so many people tell me that I could do everything I do with my fairly sophisticated cameras (all 5 of them) with the latest all singing, all dancing iPhone or whatever, that I tend to overreact a bit these days.
On a different but similar topic, I used to be an Oracle programmer for an EU agency that did translation work for other agencies that were too small to maintain their own team of translators. Some ignorant prat tried to tell me that translators are now redundant as 'Google Translate' does it flawlessly! Yes, there really are people around who are that stupid! I have to assume he was not well versed in the language he was trying to translate into! I suspect he may have been a close associate of Elon Musk!

I can't be arsed with cameras in phones, I only use them when desperate. It's a myth that they are any competition for 'proper cameras' - they most certainly are NOT!
