I find context switches taxing. With the semester ending, I'm looking forward to being able to focus on one thing for hours at a time.

@peterdrake relatedly, what would you say are the most useful ways you’ve implemented “ungrading” so far?

@heydrdj I've gone all in, as is my wont. Students generally like it, finding it much less stressful.

I haven't noticed much change in the final grade distribution. Only a few students underrate themselves and fewer overrate.

It is important to have a verification that things were turned in, if only so you have something to look back at when considering final grades.

I still struggle with the question of deadlines; I want to give slack out of compassion (and to avoid agonizing about excuses for things being a couple of days late), but to much gives students room to get themselves into trouble.
