To think I already looked up and attempted several solutions to get the play store to update anything. Sigh. I swear my next phone will be a dumbphone or something I can put Linux on so I'm not locked into so much vendor trash (stole this term from MMOs! ) without the risk of bricking a $1000 piece of hardware by trying to root it.
