I'm finding it hard to comprehend that US pundits are concerned that their Supreme Court may strike down the protection for inter-racial marriage. I mean... what the f**k? They'd prevent people marrying, in our modern age, based upon their skin colour? That would be barbaric.

@jasonetheridge The US Supreme Court didn't rule that same-sex marriage was legal until the middle of 2015. It's not surprising people are concerned about a reactionary court that has definite political leanings.

@Pallais Sure, but preventing inter-racial marriage has no basis as anything. Anti-gay marriage could at least argue that marriage is between a man and a woman as per their religious text of choice; but what possible basis is there of preventing too humans from traditionally marrying just because of an immutable physical characteristic based on the respective ancestries?

@jasonetheridge Unfortunately, my country has a history where some people believe "mixing of the races" is an evil thing and needs to be stopped. That's part of the political base being pandered to by the Trumpists. Irrationality combined with hatred is one of the curses we still have to deal with.
