I’m Jay! I am a in , PA, USA. Currently studying , to , and sciences. Previously worked in software quality assurance.

@jaysonmassey Greeting Jayson. I noticed that you were on Twitter and worried about the lack of followers. I've been here a few days, and things have picked up, so my feed is looking much more interesting now.

@jaysonmassey That's good. It's going to be difficult to rebuild all our communities from Twitter, but I think we need a fallback position (I can think of scenarios where Twitter just vanishes😮).

@AndrewR_physics This is great! I'm happy that people want to do something different. Social media cos. profit motive just destroyed it. I see social media like a party. And you have to invite the right people. Some people aren't right for the party we want. They kick in walls and windows and what not. The cos want everyone, but that's not how parties work.

@AndrewR_physics Yes! So is mine! Just gotta follow the tips out there!

Cool. Having recently had some exposure to the subject, take a look at incident response practices and having guides ready for getting logs for specific products (like VMware, SQL Server, etc). It can be a surprise to be asked for logs, and the security guys don't actually know how or what to grab.

And guidance on best practices for applications to be logging (because if its a house app, someone has to think of what to log that might be he;pful later).

Good luck in your studies.
