@gingerjet @jaysonmassey I'm not so sure. To actually fix it they need to change their complete operational model and I don't see that happening.

@alyssam_infosec @gingerjet I have not found any evidence to support the claim "Southwest will fix this and the systems that lead up to it".

Here's one huge thing...non-refundable tickets. Literally embedded in SWA's DNA is a way for every flight to be profitable even when you're not on it. It's not a bug, it's a feature.

@jaysonmassey @gingerjet yeah I've not seen them indicate any changes coming. However, they're also in a full reboot scenario right now (They basically shut down the whole system and are restarting tomorrow).

I do think coming out of this however they won't have any choice but to announce a major strategic move to address this. All their dirty laundry is laid out now and with their stock value plummeting, shareholders and the board are going to be looking for some pretty swift and extensive rebuilding.

@alyssam_infosec @gingerjet And then there is this take:

"Southwest’s silver lining: Memories of airline debacles fade fast"

Which is probably what they will do since it's the least amount of work and fits their biz model.
