Why is it that books for adults don't have illustrations like children's books? Look at all the books on this website and tell me the art doesn't captivate you! There are lots of sci-fi or other books that would be even cooler with illustrations.
@jezlyn that is a "graphic novel" grey area, isn't it?
@jellycrystals Ha, true. I forgot or wasn't thinking about graphic novels, though they would be analogous to the children's books I was referring to. I still wish non-graphic novel books had more illustrations. Some get an illustrated version later on, but not all.
I suppose a big argument against illustrations is to allow readers to exercise their imagination, which I get. But looking at the lovely art in lots of children's books, it makes me want more art in more books.
