Early November, a paper was published in which authors claim to find "direct evidence" for the #serotonin hypothesis of #depression.
A day later, the Guardian wrote very positive press coverage.
Given serious issues with the conclusions of the study (n=37, non-significant result changes to p=0.04 after exluding 1 outlier, etc.), I wrote a blog explaining the issues (https://eiko-fried.com/clear-evidence-for-serotonin-hypothesis-of-depression/).
And woke up this morning to see that the Guardian now actually edited their headline (+"claims to").
@jerlich Harassing science journalists will not be helpful in moving this forward—we should focus on the content, and I agree that the content of the piece was not sufficiently critical, hence my blog post explaining the shortcomings of the paper.
