An AI reconstruction of the Lady of Elche (4th Century BC) :

The Lady of Elche with her strange helmet, which may link her to an ancient civilization, was discovered in August 4th, 1897 AD.

The work is currently located in the National Archaeological Museum of Spain (Madrid) and considered one of most important ruins of the period.

Do we need an AI to reconstruct a face that was depicted in a fully realistic way?

Even worse, an AI that 'reconstructs' it according to modern beauty criteria, changing its features to the point of making it unrecognizable?

If I were to live in her era, I can imagine looking at the statue and finding the model.

If I were to use the 'AI reconstruction', I am pretty sure I wouldn't ever recognize her.

The AI has done such a bad work that an obviously symmetric headgear has been transformed into pure asymmetrical nonsense barely reminiscent of the original.
