Honestly, I think "AI" image generators may make themselves irrelevant because they're all converging toward a very samey glossy looking style that everyone can spot as fake.

Nah, they can do a very diverse set of styles. You can ask the style of any famous painter, movie...
But most of people don't ask a style, and the default is that glossy fake style. Probably because they were trained with a ton of videogames and CGI film scenes.
