@ZS @winfriedtilanus Yes you are right. It just makes me slightly uneasy to have a wifi antenna, proprietary firmware and an entire network stack in something that I simply want to do my dishes. 🤷‍♂️

As long as you can disable it without losing features, it is only a waste of electronics.

If you can't disable it and the only option is simply not configuring it, it can be a risk and it is wasting energy. That would be much worse.

@jgg @ilumium @winfriedtilanus Chances are WiFi is built in to the SOC on the mainboard, because they'll be using some MediaTek or Exynos SOC to do everything. A Samsung dishwasher in 2024 is probably using something like a Galaxy S8 Exynos or something of that era. It's easier to use an old process SOC that's easy and cheap to fab and already designed, than design a brand new chip just to run a dishwasher.
