* someone asks for help with yay, an aur helper, a tool that is supposed to make installing community packages easier
* arch forum moderator is like
"if you don't know how to use it then just don't use it. this is literally help vampirism"

what the fuck
it's one command, if you already know the answer, isn't it easier to just tell them the command instead of being a condescending asshole about it?

and this whole idea of "don't use abstractions if you don't know how to use the layers underneath"

literally what the fuck

isn't the point of that to make it easier, more accessible?

what are you gonna do next, tell someone "you shouldn't be writing print("hello world") in python if you can't write it in assembly"?

"if you can't assemble a computer from individual atoms, you shouldn't be buying a premade computer in first place >:((((((("

in what world does this make sense

yknow i might be wrong but maybe just replying with "pacman -U <package name>" takes a bit less effort than writing a passive-aggressive condescending response and accusing them of help vampirism

it's less letters, at least
and if it's so easy and basic, they probably know the answer anyway

same energy as StackOverflow users
or those who say "just google it lol"

honestly can we just throw all techbros away

ive been using arch as my main os for at least 3 years, yet i can just yknow,,, help people with small problems?? its not that hard???
