If you woke up tomorrow and scientists had somehow found irrefutable proof that humanity would never, ever be able to travel to other star systems or live sustainably on other planets even within our own star system - nor would any aliens out there be able to do same and visit us - what, in your opinion, would make our existence as a species meaningful in the very long term?

Dealing with the fact that our existence as a species would be very short term instead.
