@kaia Why would he think something like that? I mean, as long as you give it to him like a normal person (as opposed to smiling awkwardly while refusing to make eye contact, for instance), why would anyone get any ideas?

@kaia I just remembered that I once was in that situation and my choice was the newest edition of the book he had me scan page by page. I think it was called _Biopsychology_, by some J. Pinel. Generally, a book is not exactly the most personal of gifts, but in this case he really appreciated it, I think. To be honest, I only did it because I wanted him to stop making people scan books he was never going to read anyway. That shit's not right.
If you've read this far, sorry for wasting your time with my little anecdote. Hope you find something. Keep in mind, though, that the way you give it and what you say then is more important than the gift itself.
