The foudnation did a public voting on who was going to be the new mascott and it went terribly bad, imageboards freaked out when they saw libbie, a lot were worried that other very shitty constestant would get the position, and we can't blame them free/libre software projects have some uncanny looking mascott.
But it was obvious that libbie should have been the winner in this as there was litteraly no or little work on anything else, tyson tan did something that was really great.
Thus followed tons of fake votes and LO had probably it's worse public relation moment in it's life., it changed rules etc...
Instead of just cancelling the votes and trying something less problematic they just stopped everything and none was selected.
