🌄👣THE CURSE OF THE TWO HILLS😲🪦
If you follow the old pilgrim path from Kōdai-ji, you enter a neighbourhood of Taishō period buildings, each pressing ever closer to the road as it climbs steeply to Kiyomizu-dera.
It is one of Kyōto's most photographed townscapes.
The path is broken into three parts, renamed each time the gradient of the climb increases.
Beginning at Kōdai-ji is the almost flat 'Ichinenzaka' (一年坂 '1 Year Slope'), leading on to 'Ninenzaka' (二年坂 '2 Year Slope'), and finally the steep 'Sannenzaka' (三年坂 '3 Year Slope').
Waiting at the top of the slopes is Kiyomizu-dera.

@camelliakyoto Why don't you call them 百年坂, 二百年坂 and 三百年坂, then?
@josemanuel I don't make the rules!🥴 Also, the curse would have no real threat to it😅
